A pivotal moment in his career was meeting Karelle, his wife and creative partner. With a background in fine jewellery, Karelle brings enchantment and theatrical flair to every project. Together, they form a creative duo whose work transcends beauty and design. Through flowers, they tell stories, beyond aesthetics, beyond skill. It’s not just art. It’s a love story.
The Bear Stories
Though flowers are at the heart of Marco’s art, the bears are the soul of the brand. They represent the story of Marco and Karelle, a tale of shared imagination, creativity, and love. They also represent the many clients and friends who’ve trusted them to bring joy through events and floral creations.
Hand-drawn on the boutique façade, the two bears are ever-present.
One wears a watering can and flowers in her hair that’s Karelle, full of ideas and playfulness. The other wears a hat and holds a rose that’s Marco, more discreet but brimming with beauty. The bears are symbols of tenderness, creativity, and affection. Talismanic figures that connect the world of flowers with the innocence of childhood and the poetry of love.
The Flower
Poets have written about them, painters have immortalised them, designers have reinterpreted them. Flowers are living, delicate, and infinitely inspiring. For Marco Traverso, they are also materials of art.
Since 1982, he has chosen and worked with flowers the way one selects fine gems: with care, respect, and passion. Whether standing alone or arranged in opulent displays, each bloom becomes exceptional in his hands.
All flowers used at the Marco Traverso workshop are selected for their freshness, beauty, and quality. Preserved in specially designed cold rooms, they are used exclusively for made-to-order creations. It is within this intimate space that floral compositions are born, true works of art.
The team
Easily recognised by their aprons, the floral artists of Marco Traverso are at the heart of the house. They assist in selecting and handling flowers according to strict protocols. Transport is carried out in specially equipped vans to ensure freshness and quality.
In the boutique workshop, they participate in crafting custom-made arrangements. For grand floral installations, they work under the meticulous guidance of Karelle and Marco, ensuring every bouquet reaches its recipient with elegance and precision.
The Marco Traverso Academy
Founded in 1982, Marco Traverso & Histoires d’Ours has always been about more than flowers, it’s about artistry, expertise, and transmission. Now, Marco dreams of establishing Monaco’s very first Floral Academy.
A school open to curious minds: young people seeking a vocation, professionals looking to retrain, or simply lovers of beauty.
Here, students will learn the language of flowers, the art of composition, and the discipline of technique. But more than that, they’ll learn excellence.
With the help of trainers, artisans, and patrons, the academy will be a place where floral artistry is shared an atelier of inspiration where talent meets tradition. Not a formal school, but a space for passionate creators.
